Duke Snider dead at 84

This is a sad day for baseball and me. You all know I am from NJ. I got to see Duke
in 1955 I was 11 years old. Mom took me to the games in those days. She call them
"them bums" We love those old Dodgers. Duke could hit that ball a mile. We all will miss you #4.



Dodgers lose legend in 'Duke of Flatbush'
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Dodgers Hall of Famer Duke Snider, the Duke of Flatbush, died Sunday in an Escondido, Calif., nursing home. He was 84.

A couple in Cornwall are showcasing food left behind by stars. Why are some people drawn to such celebrity ephemera? It's one of the great cultural phenomena of the 21st Century - the appetite for learning about famous people's lives, no matter how banal the details. Gossip magazines and newspapers are stuffed with information about such minutiae.
