Last night, as hail pelted lower Manhattan, we crowded into the sweaty enclaves of the former basement CBGB, going through a backdoor with a redlight to see Yelawolf perform at our Issue 70 release party. Alabama rapper YelaWolf is having quite the year. He is currently touring with Wiz Khalifa as part of the Wake and Bake tour, performed alongside Big Boi at the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards, and recently graced the cover of Fader magazine's October/November issue. "I took 'em out to Alabama," YelaWolf explained to The BoomBox in regards to his shoot with Fader. "I took 'em to the Coosa River. I was born off the Coosa River...We just hopped in and did some rope swings. We were actually out there trying to noodle some catfish. We were trying to noodle some catfish, but we couldn't."
