IN THE silly season, celebrity news receives even more prominence than it does over the rest of the year. So it was big news just after Christmas when comedian Russell Brand announced he was divorcing chanteuse Katy Perry after little more than a year of marriage. What emerged was that Brand, 36, a noted hell-raiser not previously known for domesticity, wanted to settle down and start a family but Perry, 27, did not. Like many women her age, the recording star reportedly preferred to concentrate on her burgeoning career, and didn't want to suspend it for motherhood. While the Brand-Perry story is celebrity gossip, it raises serious issues. Most particularly, when one partner wants children, and the other doesn't, what does this mean for the future of a marriage, and is it fair to keep one partner in a marriage when their parenthood hopes and dreams won't be fulfilled as a result? Kathy Griffin talkshow details emerge

More details about Kathy Griffin 's primetime talkshow on Bravo have emerged. Kathy will air weekly starting this spring, seeing the comedian discuss topics such as pop culture and politics. "This will be the destination to get Griffin's thoughts on everything pop culture as she rants on the week's biggest headlines and tabloid gossip," said Bravo. Kathy will also feature comedy, celebrity interviews and prerecorded segments. Each episode will be one hour long. Griffin will also appear in two new one-hour comedy specials this year. She has performed 13 previous specials for the network since 2005. Kathy will debut on Bravo in the spring.

Mark Wright Reveals TV Love Ban

I’m A Celebrity ’s Mark Wright has banned himself from dating contestants on his new show Take Me Out: The Gossip. The former The Only Way Is Essex star begins his new role as presenter on the show and despite hooking-up with most of his former co-stars as well as flirting in the jungle this time he has banned himself from hitting on any lucky ladies. He told The Sun : "I'm single but there is no way I am dating anyone from the show. I'm working and I am too professional. It's not happening." We will see how long this lasts as Mark will be joined by gorgeous co-host Zoe Hardman. The 24-year-old was full of praise for Zoe and said: "She's really good, we get on so well - she's great."
